About me

I know shared leadership from the inside

Amrit Rescheneder – expert in co-leadership. Before guiding others in building shared leadership, I led it myself. With everything that makes it easy, and everything that hurts.

My path

For fifteen years I held leadership responsibility in banking – in an environment where leadership is rarely thought of as shared. At some point I led in a job-sharing model myself: one role, two people, shared responsibility. Those years changed my view of leadership. Not because everything ran smoothly – but because I learned first-hand what shared leadership really hinges on.

Aus meiner Praxis

What surprised me most wasn’t the coordination effort. It was how much everything depends on a single question almost no one asks beforehand: who decides when we disagree? That experience is the core of my work today.

Why practice over theory

A lot is written about shared leadership – often by people who never carried it themselves. I don’t explain textbook models. I say what holds up day to day and what doesn’t, because I’ve lived both. That’s no promise of comfort: sometimes my most honest recommendation is that shared leadership isn’t the right path for your situation.

What I stand for

1

Clarity

An uncomfortable, clear statement beats a diplomatic maybe.

2

Structure

Good collaboration isn’t luck; it’s the result of clear rules.

3

Eye level

I work with you, not over your head. You know your context best.

How I work

  • I start with an honest status check, not a finished model.
  • I make roles and decision rules written and usable in daily life.
  • I stay long enough for it to hold – not just sound good in the workshop.
  • I also say what you might not want to hear.

Frequently asked questions

Where does your experience with shared leadership come from?

From 15 years of leadership responsibility in banking and several years in which I led in a job-sharing model myself.

Do you prefer working with organisations or duos?

With both. The perspectives complement each other: what organisations need structurally, I see in the tandems’ daily reality.

Do you ever turn a project down?

Yes. If shared leadership doesn’t fit or I’m not the right person, I say so openly.
